I think that the book tries to give a good explanation of the change and future in identity politics. For example, the explanation of disability studies is very detailed and outlines the suggestion that the minority social group of people with disabilities may not exist. Due to the change in politics over the years, how can you class someone as having a disability? Not everyone is born with a disability and political policies have changed to suit needs of people with disabilities. I think this shows a clear example of identity politics and also how it has changed.

I think the book explains the change and future of identity politics through disabilities very well as its detailed about the social and medical models of health to help define the disability studies.

I found the beginning part difficult to fully understand, even after re-reading it. The second part about how identity is socially produced with the example of disabilities is a lot clearer. It's well explained and interesting once you get into it.

I think the start of the book was quite confusing and I found it hard to understand. However, when the book started to introduce the first chapter of disability studies, it became much more clear and gave detailed explanations of subjects such as, what does it mean to have a disability? It took me quite a while to get into the book but once I had, this topic became quite interesting.

The Book really illustrates the importance of new social movements such as Occupy which have existed in postmodern America and highlights their impact our our identity politics and our choice of political party. The Book also explains the significance of how traditional left and right wing parties have become more centralised and how the ability to adapt to current affairs can really help in having political power such as Tony Blair’s ‘New Labour’ and his ability to persuade the UK public that everyone is middle class.
